Possible to dismiss red light violation?

I recently got a citation for ping a red light. I plan on pleading not guilty. In my defense, the conditions were wet from rain and had I tried braking I had a feelign I'd skid. I was like directly in front of the light when it had turned red. Unfortunately a cop was on the other lane. Now because of this my good student, journal keeping, and drivers course discounts on insurance are going to come off unelss I get teh ticket dismissed, does it seem possible to dismiss it?
