Can you think of a more PC word for gypsy than gypsy ?

This is not partlicularly to do with the couple of druggy sbags who topped the Indian builder, but when we hear the word gypsy, we tend to think of liars, cheats, thieves and generally violent dishonest rubbish. In this it could be argued that the very use of the word gypsy is actually pre-judging them. There are possibly good gyppos as well as bad ones, so wouldn't it be nice if we had a word to describe these nice people that didn't have the negative imagery ociated with the word gypsy ?
